またまたカナダ横断中！ Canada AGAIN! Journey to TBEX! #ExploreCanada

またまた行きますよ！
It’s happening again!

カナダ観光局の招待でまたカナダに行くことになりました！
I’m back in Canada thanks to the Canadian Tourism Commission!

招待されて三回目になります！
It’s my third time being invited.

しかも、ウェブサイトでみると・・・
And when I check the website….

自分の名前の横に日本の国旗が付いてるの！
There’s a Japanese symbol next to my name！

日本の代表として選ばれて本当に嬉しいです。いつも、ありがとうございます！すごくシュールな感じです。
I’m so happy that I continue to be chosen to represent Japan. Thank you so much! It feels so surreal.

今回の旅について、ちょっと説明させていただきます！
Let me explain a little about this season’s adventure!

とりあえず英語のタイトルは、”Journey To TBEX”です。軽く訳すと「TBEXへの旅です！」かな。
First of all, the trip is called “Journey To TBEX”.

TBEXというのは、世界中のトラベルブロガーと、スポンサーさんが集まるイベントです。
TBEX is an event aimed at bringing travel bloggers and sponsors together from all over the world.

今年、そのTBEXというイベントが、トロントで開催されています。
The event, this year is being held in Toronto!

そもそも、どこから始まるのかというと。。
So, where exactly are we starting from?

私が生まれたところ、バンクーバーです！
Vancouver, where I was born!

とりあえず、18日からバンクーバーで４日間ほど滞在します！
First of all, I’m in Vancouver for 4 days from May 18th.

その後は、ジャスパー市、ウィニペッグ市、そしてトロント市に行きます！
After that, I’m heading to Jasper, Winnipeg, and Toronto!

しかも、今回の移動はなんと・・・
And this time, we’re going by…

VIA RAIL!
VIA鉄道！

Via Rail is the passenge rail service in Canada, and also a sponsor of this trip!
VIA鉄道は、カナダ国内の都市間旅客鉄道サービスを提供する国営企業であって、今回の旅のスポンサーです！

今回行くのは、赤線のルート。
We’re following the red-lined route.

普通にバンクーバーからトロントまでずっと乗ると、三日間かかるらしいよ。
They say it takes about 3 days to ride the train from Vancouver to Toronto.

しかも、地図でちょっと見づらいですけど・・・
And it’s kind of hard to see on the map, but…

私の実家である、カムルップス市に、３０分程度止まるんだって！
We’re stopping in my hometown of Kamloops, for 30 minutes!

もちろん、お母さんを呼びました。（笑）
Of course, I told my mom to be there.

果たして、無事に会えるのかなー!?!?!?
But will I be able to meet her as planned?!??!?!

(そうだと信じたいですw）
(I’d like to hope so.)

今まで一番長い旅になります。
It’s the longest trip I’ve had yet.

六月の一周目まで、カナダに滞在する予定です♬
I’m here until the first week of June!

渋谷で撮影してきました！ Photoshoot in Shibuya!

毎日忙しいミカエラです！
Hi, I’m Micaela, and I’m busy every day!

日曜日から、今朝（木曜日）までは、東京に滞在しました。
I stayed in Tokyo, from Sunday until this morning (Thursday.)

ネスレのホームページに流れている動画の収録できましたが、
暇の時に絶対にやりたかったことがありました。
I was mainly there to shoot episodes of the show that appears on the Nestle homepage,
but in my free time there was something I wanted to do!

好きなカメラマンのヒャクタロさんに、写真を撮ってもらいたかったです！
I wanted to have my camera man friend, Hyakutaro, take my picture!

実は、去年ヒャクタロと二回も撮影しました。
Last year, Hyakutaro took photos of me twice：

一回目は、代々木公園でのポートフォリオ用の撮影でした。
The first time, were portfolio shots taken in Yoyogi Park.

二回目は、ヒャクさんが運営しているウェブサイト美女暦のために浅草に行って撮影しました。
The second time, we went to Asakusa to shoot pictures for a website that Hyaku-san runs called “Bijogoyomi”

今回は、渋谷の周辺でお散歩しながら取ってもらいました。
This time, we took photos around Shibuya.

普通にぶらぶらしながらパシャパシャと写真撮り続けたヒャクさん。
While we wandered around the area, he took snapshots one after another.

撮影は一時間以内に終わりました。
The whole shoot took less than an hour.

でもやっぱり、ヒャクタロさんのセンスがとても好きです。
But I really love Hyaku-san’s photography sense.

忙しい中で、わざわざ渋谷にきて撮影してくれて本当にうれしかったです！
I was so happy he took time out of his busy schedule to come to Shibuya and shoot with me.

すごく楽しかったです！是非また撮影できる機会があるなら撮ってもらいたいです！
It was so much fun. I hope I have a chance to shoot with him again some day.

桜ピザが届いてきました！Sakura Pizza!

今日は、午前中に不思議な差し入れが届いてくました。
This morning I got a mysterious gift in the mail.

前回話した英会話教室の生徒さんが送ってくれました。
One of the students from the English Class I mentioned last time, sent it to me.

開けたら、中身がこうなんでした。
When I opened the box, it looked like this:

裸足ですみません！
(Sorry for my naked feet.)

冷凍のピザです！
Frozen pizzas!

日本で冷凍の贈り物送るのは普通だけど、カナダにはほぼなです。
It’s normal for people to send frozen goods by mail in Japan, but in Canada it rarely happens.

だからとりあえずそれだけで楽しかった。
So that alone was really fun for me.

だけど、よくみたら・・・
But then looking closer..

へ！？　まさか・・・
Wow, could it be??

サ・・・桜!!!!???
S…Sakura!!!???

桜ピザ！　しかも、マルゲリータとジェノベーゼ風のピザも入りました！
Sakura Pizza! And that’s not all, but Margherita and Genovese Seafood Pizzas too!

ちょうど昼前に家に届きましたので、さっそくランチにすることにしました！
And since they arrived right before noon, I decided I’d eat them right away for lunch!

オーブンを持っていないので、小さなトースターオーブンで焼いてみた。
I don’t have a real oven, so I cooked them in my little toaster oven.

だけど、綺麗に焼き上がりました。
But they still turned out nice.

そして焼き上がったピザをそのまま手にもって、外に出かけました。
And I took those freshly grilled pizzas into my two hands and walked outside.

咲いている桜を見ながら桜ピザを食べてみよーっと！
I wanted to eat Sakura Pizza while enjoying the blooming Sakura.

凄くラッキーなことに、近くに良い場所がありました。
Luckily, I knew a reallllly good place nearby.

花見を楽しんでいる人たくさんいました！
There were lots of people out enjoying the flowers!

凄く気持ちいい天気でしたし。
And the weather was so nice!

座るところをみつけて、すぐ桜ピザ食べてみました。
I found a place to sit down, and tried the Sakura Pizza first!

味はめっちゃ・・・・桜です！　（笑）
It… tasted like Sakura.  (lol).

桜の塩漬けと、蜂蜜のベースで、甘いか酸っぱいか分からない感じでした。
The salted Sakura flowers, mixed with the sweet honey base, I couldn’t tell if the Pizza was ~sweet~ or ~salty~

とにかく今まで食べたことがない味がして、うまく説明はできません。ハハ！
It’s unlike anything I’ve ever eaten before so I don’t know how to explain it. Haha.

どっちかに言うとデザートピザのカテゴリーに入りましたね。
It definitely falls into the “dessert pizza” category though.

でも美味しかったです！　新しい食べ物を食べるとなんか刺激的だよね。
But it was really good! It’s exciting to eat something “new”, isn’t it?

是非また来年食べたいなーと思いました。
I’d eat it again next year for sure.

っていうか、来年友達にも送ってあげたいなあ。
I’d like to send it to some of my friends to try too next time.

約束はしないけど。(笑）
Not going to make any promises right now though. Haha.

びっくりしているやろー

実は、木曜日は英会話教室やっています。
Actually,  I teach English classes on Thursdays.

そして生徒たちは、最近ブログを見るようになりました。
And my students have started reading my blog.

読んでもらうってことで凄く更新をするモチベーションになります。
The fact that they’re watching is motivating me to update it more.

そして、リクエストで、早く先週のスペイン旅行について書きたいと思います。
So, by request, I’m writing about my trip to Spain last week.

Stamp in my passport! Good to go!

そうです。お仕事でスペインに行くことになりました。
That’s right, I got to go to Spain for work.

どんな仕事なのか、ネット上ではかけないけど。
I can’t be any more specific than that on the internet。

でもすごく楽しかったです。初めてのスペインというか、初めてのヨーロッパでした。
But it was a lot of fun. It was not only my first trip to Spain, but also my first trip to Europe.

Flags hang from the balconies.

町づくりはとても素敵でした。ビルが古いでしたが、それでなにかちょっとお洒落な雰囲気になりました。
I really loved the layout of the city. The buildings were old-fashioned, but that made it look trendy and cool.

顔をつかんでキスするなんていいなー

映画に出てきそうな風景ばかりでした。
Most streets looked like scenes from movies to me.

なんかちょっとロマンチックな雰囲気もありました。
It kind of had a romantic atmosphere to it as well.

犬が普通にどこでもウェルカムでしたし、
Dogs seemed to be welcomed everywhere.

お店を経営したゴールデンレトリバーにも、出会えました。（笑）
I even met a Golden Retriever who ran a corner store.

いらっしゃいませ！ Hola~!

英語は、分からなかったようですが。（笑）
He didn’t seem to speak English though. (Haha.)

まあ、っていうか、実は、スペインで英語必ず通じるわけじゃないです。
Actually, English isn’t a commonly spoken language in Spain.

観光地に行けば誰か分かるぐらいですけど、
If you go to the touristy places, someone might speak to you, but

タクシーを乗ったときでも、うまく伝えられなかった時もありました。
I definitely had trouble communicating in taxis, etc.

とにかく、スペインに行く前に、iPadのアプリでスペイン語を少しでも勉強してよかったです。
In any case, I’m glad I studied a little bit of Spanish on my iPad before I went.

豚肉のお店

スペインと言えば、ハモン・セラーノです。
Spain is famous for Jamón serrano。

間と言えば、塩漬けにした、薄切りのハムです。
It’s salted, thinly sliced ham, to put it simply.

ほぼ毎日ハムを食べたような気がします。
I am certain we ate ham every single day.

ホテルの近くの道にあった豚肉のお店、窓に除いてみると・・・
This was a butcher on a street near my hotel. Looking in the window, I could see..

美味しそう！ Bueno!

お店の壁に飾り付けていた、豚の足。
Pig’s legs decorating the walls of the shop.

ハムだけではなくてソーセージも大人気みたいですね。
It looks like sausages are also popular in Spain.

肉の種類いろいろあって面白いですね

やはり店内は日本やカナダの店の雰囲気と全然違いますね。
The feel of this store is entirely different from anything I’ve seen in Canada or Japan.

本当に海外にきた！！って感じでした。
It really felt like I was in a new land.

本当に楽しかったです。
It was a lot of fun.

スペインで仕事で凄く忙しかったので、自分の動画を撮る機会はなかったです。
I was so busy in Spain with work commitments, that I couldn’t make any videos.

でもせめて写真ぐらい撮られてよかったって思います。
But I’m really glad I at least got some pictures.

あ、またスペインのカフェでくつろいだりしたいなあ。
I wish I could go back and hang out in a cafe.

甘い甘いサングリアを飲みながらね。
While drinking a sweet glass of sangria.

フルーツ入りのワイン、サングリア！♬

またお仕事で海外いけたらいいなー♬
I hope I can travel overseas again for work in the future.

大人になるとこうやって世界を回ると思わなかったですけどね。
I never thought I’d grow up to travel the world as much as I do.

１４歳まで一回も飛行機乗ったこともなかった私は、
At 14 years old, I rode an airplane for the first time,

１０年後、今年この３ヶ月だけでなんと、18回も乗っているの。
10 years later, and I’ve rode 18 planes in the past 3 months in 2013.

本当に凄いね。ありえない。
It’s insane. Unbelievable.

ちなみに、これは、スペインで泊ったホテルで撮りましたw

よしゃ、これからも、頑張って、楽しくやっていこう。
From now on, as well, I’ll do my best to keep enjoying the ride.

天神でぶらぶら

Hellooo!

お久しぶりです！
Hey! It’s been a while.

っていうか、明けましておめでとうございます。
Actually, I guess I should say “Happy New Year”.

もう三月だけどね。(すみません。）
It’s already March though. (Sorry.)

いつも更新するつもりで、写真がいっぱい撮っているのに、時間だけが。。。
I always intend to update, and I have so many pictures, but when it comes to time…

今の生活の中で、時間だけが足りないなように気がしているんです。
Time is the only thing I feel I’m lacking in my current life.

まあ、幸せなことですけどね。
But that’s a good thing, I suppose.

実は、見せたいものたくさんあるけど、最近忙しいので、暇の時になにをするのかというテーマから始めたいと思います。
I have so many things I want to talk about, but today I want to just talk about how I like to spend my free time.

福岡の週末は、もちろん、天神で過ごします！
I spend my free time in Fukuoka, in, of course, Tenjin!

ぶらぶらして、暇のあるとき、必ず行くのは・・・
When I am just walking around killing time, I always go to…

三越の地下２階です！

そうです、三越の地下２階でございます。
Yes, the very basement of the Mitsukoshi building!

実は今まで、三越ってちょっとおばさんっぽいイメージがあったんですけど（おばさんたち、ごめんね。）
Actually, I always thought Mitsukoshi was geared towards um, “elderly” ladies. (Sorry, ladies.)

高級ブランドがたくさんあって、最近まで、入ろうとしなかったです。
There are lots of expensive brands, so I didn’t bother ever going in.

でも、その三越の地下２階は、天国のような場所なんです。
But actually, the B2 Floor of Mitsukoshi is like, heaven.

Cake!

ま、甘いもの大好きな私にとってね。
Well, I like sweet things a LOT, so..

どんな言い訳があっても、甘いものを買う時はかならず三越に立ち寄ります！
No matter what the excuse, I always stop by Mitsukoshi when looking for sweets.

美味しそうなものをすぐてに入れるし、値段も、店によるんだけど、リーソナブルです。
You can find any sweet almost instantly, and the prices, although depending on the store, are very reasonable.

Macarons!

そして、三越に行くと、必ず買うものがあります。
Also, there is something I always make sure to buy when I’m in Mitsukoshi.

本当に本当におすすめです。
I really really really recommend it.

ちょっと高いけどね。
Even though it’s a little expensive.

Fresh Juice!

ここは、ベジテリアというジュースのお店です。
This is a juice shop called, “Vegeteria.”

旬の野菜やフルーツを使って、作り立てのジュースを販売しています。
They make fresh fruit and vegetable juice made from whatever is in season at the moment.

ジュースの種類が日替わりで変わります。
And the type of juice sold changes daily.

ケール＆バナナやケール＆キウィのジュース一番気に入っているんですけど、今回はなかったです。
I really like their Kale & Banana Juice, or Kale & Kiwi juice, but they didn’t have it on this day.

なので、あまおうイチゴ、アセロラ、とクランベリーのジュースにしてみました。
So I chose the Amao (a Fukuoka local Strawberry), Acerola,  and Cranberry juice instead.

おいしいよー

ビタミンたっぷりということで、「ビタミンCスペシャール」って呼ばれたの。
Since it was full of vitamins, it was called the “Vitamin C Special”.

甘いもの大好きですが、砂糖ばかり食べると体によくないのですね。
I love sweets, but too much sugar is bad for your body.

だから、フルーツの自然な甘さが私的にちょうどいいです。
So the naturally occurring sugars in these fruits really hits the spot for me.

もちろん、甘いものだけではなく、ご飯のおやつも、三越で買うことができます！
Of course, you can buy more savory food in Mitsukoshi as well!

たまに晩ご飯買って帰る時もあります。
Sometimes I buy my dinner there too.

ほかのデパートの地下をみてきたんですけど、やはり三越が一番いいです。
I’ve seen the other basements of the other department stores in the area, but I think Mitsukoshi is the best.

日本人は知っているかもしれないけど、多くの外国人って、まだこういうところがあるとは分かっていないと思います。
I think many Japanese people know about this, but I don’t know how many foreigners know this place exists..

是非機会があれば、立ち寄ったほうがいいと思います。

福岡天神のおすすめのパンケーキ♥ The Best Pancakes in Tenjin

ちょっと遅くなりましたが、１１月の記事をかきtーーーー
Sorry to be late, it’s been really busy this month but—

へえええ！！？？！？？！！？！？！？もう１２月ですって？？
Wait, WHAT? Since when is it December!?

(ごめんなさい！！！）
(SORRY!)

実は、「いつも仲間と！」の動画編集に集中しすぎて、ブログ全然書きませんでした。(週３回の配信です！）
I’ve been focusing too much on videos for [Always With Friends!], and not writing any blogs! (Three videos a week!)

だけど、今週はちょっとの暇が出来ましたので、美味しいパンケーキを食べたくなりました。
But I managed to get some free time this week, and I was craving some pancakes!

だって、だれでも冬のパンケーキ大好きですもんねー！　（私だけかー！）
Everyone loves a good winter pancake! (Don’t they?)

先週会ったばかりのドイツから留学しているルイザさんとお友達の彩さんと３人で
Bibliotheque行きました！
So this week I invited Luisa, an exchange student from Germany,
and her friend Aya, to Bibliotheque!

天神VIOROのB1Fにあります (It’s in the B1F of Tenjin Vioro!)

“Bibliotheque”はフランス語で図書館と言う意味です。古い本や雑誌の飾りでとてもお洒落な店です。
“Bibliotheque” is the french word for “Library”, and old books and magazines decorate the trendy looking restaurant.

ランチメニューに乗るもの、全部美味しそうで、人気のものはすぐ売り切れになったりします。
All of the items on the lunch menu look amazing,  some options sell out quickly.

たまにも、行列になります。
Sometimes there’s even a lineup to get inside.

一番人気のメニューは、やはりパンケーキです！
Their most popular dish being, of course, their pancakes!

ということで、早速頼んでみました！
We put an order in right away.

。。。しかし、注文してから作るものですので、出来上がるまでは１５−２０分程度かかります。
But .. they are made-to-order, so they take 15 to 20 minutes to cook.

とりあえずコーヒーを飲みながらゆっくりガールズトーク！
We decided to have some coffee first!

Raspberry Mocha :3

ベリーの苦みが残るやや甘いコーヒーでした。♬
It was a semi-sweet coffee with a bitter taste of fruit.

ベリー大好きな私にとって美味しかったですが、ドイツからきているルイザさんによると
「コーヒーの味が薄過ぎる」って感じでした （笑）
I love berries so I thought it was really nice, but Luisa from Germany insists that the coffee was
not strong enough. Hehehe.

そしてようやくパンケーキがきました！
Finally our pancakes arrived!

出来立てのアツアツパンケーキの上に、クリームチーズとフレッシュベリーをたっぷり！
Fresh hot pancakes, with cream cheese and fresh berries!

フルーツのシロップをかけて召し上がれー！
Drizzle the fruit syrup and serve!

単品で980円　　ドリンク付きで１４８０円です
It costs 980 yen for the pancakes only,    or 1480 yen if you include a drink.

お腹ぺこぺこの時は、一人で全部食べれますが、今回はランチ帰りでよってみたので、
三人で一人前を分けて食べました。
If you’re really hungry, you can probably eat all three by yourself, but since we already had lunch,
we shared between the three of us.

カップルのデートにもぴったり会いそうですねー
It would be perfect to share on a date or something.. ♥

本当に写真でうまく伝わっていないと思うけど、このパンケーキがもの凄く美味しいです。
I don’t know if the pictures do them justice, but they are amazing pancakes.

実家でよく食べたパンケーキよりかなりレベルが高いです！
A thousand times better than any home-made pancakes I’ve had.

ぜひ、皆さんにもおすすめしたいです！
I can’t recommend them enough!

Search for “bibliotheque” online, and go try them!

柴犬を飼い始めました。My Shiba Inu.

日本へ帰ってきて、やっと落ち着いてきています。
I’m back in Japan and finally settling down.

パソコンする作業が多くなって、家で仕事する日々が増えてきました。
I do a lot of work on my computer, so the days I spend at home are increasing.

このタイミングで、犬を飼い始めました。
So it’s been good timing to get a dog.

(そしてこのタイミングで、カメラの新しいレンズも飼いました。）
(Also, it was good timing to get a new lens for my camera.)

それでは生後６ヶ月の豆柴、キット君を紹介します。
So here is 6 month old Kit, the Mame-Shiba Inu.

豆柴とは、普通の柴よりかなり小さい犬類です。
Mame-Shiba are a lot smaller than standard Shiba Inu.

豆柴って、大きさは予想できないみたいです。犬によってサイズが異なります。
You cannot predict the size of a Mame-Shiba Inu. It depends on each dog.

だけど、キット君はまだまだ４キロってことで、かなり小さいです。
But Kit is only 8 pounds at 6 months, he is very tiny.

まあ、体が小さいだからと言っても、性格的は普通の柴と変わらないです。
But even though he is a small dog, his personality is that of a full-sized Shiba.

いたずら好きで、活発な男の子です。賢すぎて困っています。
He loves to play tricks and is very energetic. He causes me trouble because he is too clever.

自分より大きいなワンちゃんに出会えると、必ず吠える。 (笑）
He barks at dogs bigger than he is. (lol)

そして自分より小さな犬を、必ず追いかける。
And he chases after those who are smaller.

正直に、これから友達できるかどうかが心配です。
I’m actually worried he won’t be able to make friends at this rate.

犬は小さなころから飼っていたので、育てる経験はありますが、
I have had dogs ever since I was little, so I have experience but..

柴犬はやっぱり格別ですね。
Shiba Inu are definitely an exception.

大きなパーソナリティで、プライドもとても高い犬なんだ。
They have a huge personality and lots of pride.

豆柴飼っても、その柴らしさが消えません。
Even though he is a mini-shiba, he still has the same instincts of a full sized one.

好奇心がつよい。
He has lots of curiosity.

そして必死にリーだーになりたい。
And he desperately wants to call the shots.

たまにも、迷惑をかけています。（笑）
And sometimes he is full of mischief.

だけど、この顔に見とれています。
But I love his face.

そしてついつい許してしまいます。
And I can’t stay mad at him for long.

このわんちゃんと一緒に暮らすといろいろ大変ですが、
He’s a lot of trouble to live with
