最近色なことを挑戦して、ブログの更新忘れてしまいました。
I was so busy with other things I forgot about updating my blog!

今日も時間が少ないので、急いで書いています！
I don’t have a lot of time today either, so I’m writing quickly.

先週の金曜日、撮影を写真家の越智さんに誘われました。
Last Friday, I was invited to do a photoshoot with Mr. Ochi.

Cheese!

朝１１時に集合して、よる６時半まで撮影が続きました。
We met up at 11am, and didn’t finish until about 6:30pm.

撮られた写真が結構かっこうよく出来上がりました。
The pictures he took ended up looking really neat.

ソニックにのって別府へ！

今年の年末年始は、地元のカナダへ帰れなかったです。
I couldn’t go back to Canada for the winter holiday.

実は竜平と二人で帰るつもりがありましたが、いろいろ都合が悪かったため、行けませんでした。
Actually Ryuhei and I were planning to go back this year, but it didn’t work out.

ですから、今年また温泉旅行にすることに決定！ (クリックすると去年の湯布院もみれます！）
So this year, we decided to go on another Onsen trip! (Click to see last year’s Yufuin Trip!)

 朝早く起きて，博多に向かって、Sonic 883に乗りました。
So we got up early, and caught the Sonic 883 out of Hakata.

別府まで二時間かかったんですけど、電車内が快適で、竜平すぐ寝ました。
It was two hours by train to Beppu (Oita Pref.), but the inside of the train was comfortable,  Ryu fell asleep instantly.

そして別府に着いてすぐホテルに向かって食事をしました。
As soon as we arrived in Beppu, we headed to the hotel for lunch.

これから食べ物の写真たくさん入れちゃうので 　(笑）
I’m going to put a ton of food pictures in here, be aware.

 とりあえず、ホテルについてから、すぐレストランへ連れていかれました。
First of all, when we arrived at the hotel, we were taken immediately to the restaurant.

そこですでに料理の一部が出されて、早速食べ始めました。
They already set the table with a few starters, so we started eating immediately.

 しばらくしたら、お刺身もでました。
Shortly after we started eating, they brought us sashimi!

まぐろを食べない竜平の刺身の一部ももらって、私は嬉しかったです！
Ryuhei doesn’t eat maguro (tuna) sashimi, so I got to eat a little bit extra.

そしてつぎは、地鶏のしゃぶしゃぶを楽しみました。
Next we enjoyed some chicken shabu shabu!

とり天が有名である大分県の地鶏とても美味しかったです。
Considering Oita Prefecture is famous for Tori-Ten (Chicken Tempura), the chicken was great.

 二人にちょうどいいぐらいの量で、最後にすごくお腹いっぱいになりました。
It was just enough for two people, we were feeling very full at the end of the meal.

そして最後に出てたご飯とみそ汁は、小さくて可愛いでした。
And at the end, the rice bowl and miso-soup they brought us were so cute.

魚も新鮮で美味しかった。絶対食べ残っちゃいけないと思って、全部食べました。
The fish was so fresh and good, I didn’t let myself waste it–I ate it all.

終わったらレストランを出て，またフロントに戻りました。
When we finished eating, we left the restaurant and went back to the front desk.

受付の人がとても丁寧で優しく、家族ぶろうまで案内しました。
The nice lady at the front desk lead us to the Kazokuburo (family bath.)

そしてお腹いっぱいのまま一時間二人でプライベートのお風呂を楽しめました。
And with full stomachs we enjoyed a nice private onsen bath.

ゆっくり休んで疲れをとれました。
It was refreshing and relaxing.

しばらく休んでからホテルをでて、別府市内でぶらぶらしました。
After our short rest, we left the hotel and explored the city.

もちろん有名の地獄巡りもしました。
We also did the famous “jigoku-meguri”.

今回のアプデートはちょっと重たいなんで、地獄巡りについては、次回また書きます。
But this entry is a bit heavy with photos as it is, so I’ll write about Jigoku-Meguri next time.

車の免許がないので、今回も、JRをご利用して、楽しい旅行を楽しみました。
I really enjoy using the JR train for my travels, since I don’t have a driver’s license.

今回の電車／ランチ／入浴パーケージはお一人9000円でした。
This time, our package (including round trip train/lunch/private bath) cost 9,000 yen ($100) each.

そしてホテルでてから、スケージュールが自由なので、一日最後まで楽しめることもできる。
And once you leave the hotel, the rest of the day is free to do as you please.

ぜひおすすめしたいとおもいます。
I’d definitely recommend it.

去年の11月17日に始まったんですけど、今月の1月17日に終了。
They’ve been up since November, but they’ll be gone January 17th!

カナダから帰ってきて、もう１週間たちました。
It’s already been a week since I came back from Canada.

このブログの記事に振り返ってみると、十日間であんなに忙しかったと信じられない。
When I look back on the blog entries, it’s hard to believe I did so much in 10 days.

一週間たって、カナダの思い出はもう夢にようになっています。
After one week, the memories I have of the things I did in Canada seem like only dreams.

凄くよかったです。
It was really fun.

母国だといっても、今回の体験全部初めてでした。
Even though it’s my home country, all these experiences were new to me.

犬ぞりとか、オーロラの撮影、バンフ、ウィスラー、そしてホワイトホース。
Dog sledding, the Northern Lights, Banff, Whistler, and Whitehorse.

カナダに長く住んでいたのに、やった事ないこと、行った事ない場所。
Even though I lived in Canada for so long, they were things I hadn’t done, places I hadn’t been.

観光者の感覚からみたら、初めてカナダの素晴らしさに感動しました。
Seeing everything from the perspective of a tourist, I was moved by Canada’s beauty.

そして旅の間ずっと一緒に居たブロガーダイスケさんに大変感謝しています。
I’m also really thankful to Daisuke for putting up with me for 10 days.

ダイスケさんをみて、ブログと映像の撮り方についていろいろ勉強になりました。
I learned a lot about blogging and video from watching him work.

そしてこれから、カナダへ行きたいと思っている方
For those of you who might consider visiting Canada from now,

このブログが参考になれば、どうにか役に立ったらと嬉しいです。

しばらくアップデートできなくてごめんね！
Sorry I couldn’t update for a while.

最後に泊まったホテルでインタネットにつながらなかったのです！
I couldn’t connect to the internet in the last hotel I stayed at.

実は、ガイドさんの話によると、ホワイトホースでは最近まで携帯も使えなかったらしいです。
According to the Guide, the city of Whitehorse didn’t even have full cell-phone service until recently.

約二年前から町の周りで通信出来るようになりましたって。
They only started being able to use cell phones outside the city about 2 years ago.

私みたいな若い人にとってとても想像できないライフスタイルですw
For a young person like me, it’s hard to imagine their lifestyle.

でも実は、たった4日間で、ホワイトホースの町とても好きになりました。
But the truth is, in the 4 days here, I really started to love Whitehorse.

市民がとてもマイペースで、のんびり過ごしているらしいです。
The people are very relaxed, and follow their own pace.

都市みたいに、急いでいる人や、ストレス感じている人の姿いっさいも見えませんでした。
I never saw a single person stressed out, or in a rush.

そして面白いことに、ガイドさんはドイツ人で、ホテルの受付の人はイギリス出身。
And the interesting thing was that–our guide was German. The hotel front desk lady was from England.

日本人も多かったし、二泊泊まったロージの人もフランス系の女性でした。
There were many Japanese visitors, and the lodge that we stayed at was run by a French woman.

この生活に憧れた海外の人たちがホワイトホースに集まってきましたみたいです。
It seems that people from all over the world have come to Whitehorse for this lifestyle.

同じカナダなのに、全く別の世界みたいと思いました。
Even though it’s the same Canada, it feels like a completely different world.

自然がいっぱいで、素敵です。
There is so much nature, it’s beautiful.

 是非、またホワイトホースにいきたいと思います。
I definitely think I’d come back here again.

特に夏になるとどんな体験できるのかーー
Especially when I think of all the SUMMER activities they must have..

やっぱりカナダ美しいです。
Canada is truly beautiful.

Wish this wasn’t blurry!

今日は、ホワイトホースの寒い冬の中で犬ぞりを体験しました！
Today I experienced Dog Sledding amidst a Whitehorse winter!

マックタックって言うところに行きました。
We went to a place called “Muktuk Adventures”.

ガイドさん、観光局のモリーンさんと、ダイスケさんと、中国人の観光者４人で行きました。
Our group included our guide, Maureen from CTC, Daisuke, and 4 Chinese Tourists.

犬大好きな私は、大喜びました。
I love dogs, so I was pretty pleased.

犬達はフレンドリーで元気でした。みんな犬ぞりに行きたくて、ずっとワンワン吠えました。
The dogs were friendly and energetic, they wanted to go sledding so badly, they barked a lot.

一つのチームにつき犬六匹ぐらいつけました。
They had about 6 dogs for every team.

観光局のモーリンさんはドライバになったので、私はずっと座って景色を楽しめました。
Maureen from the CTC was my driver, so I sat in the sled and enjoyed the scenery.

犬のお尻でも可愛かったです。
Even the dog’s butts were cute!

犬の性格によって場所を決めるらしいです。
The location of the dogs on the team depends on their personality.

例えば、リーダーは、一番強い犬じゃなくて、一番詳しい犬なんだって。
For example, the leader of a dog sled team isn’t the strongest, but the smartest dog.

そして、後ろの二匹はいつも、前じゃなくて、運転士を見ていました。
And the dogs at the back always looked at US, not forward.

自信はないっていうことで、リーダーより、フォローが特長だったんです。
They didn’t have confidence, so they were better as followers than leaders.

そして前に二匹はずっと前を向いて、怖がらずに進みました。
And the two dogs at the front remained focused and constantly moved forward.

 犬たちが一つのチームになって、同時に動くのをみて感動しました。
Seeing the dogs become a team, and work together, was really cool.

絶対みんなも、犬ぞり体験して欲しいと思いますw

今朝ウィスラーを出て、バンクーバーに行きました。
This morning we left Whistler and headed to Vancouver.

そしてバンクーバーの空港からホワイトホースに向かいました。
And from Vancouver airport we headed to Whitehorse, in the Yukon.

到着した時マイナス17℃でした。つまりちょっと寒かったです。
When we arrived it was -17℃. In other words, a bit chilly.

ホテルにチェックインしたら、お近くのレストランに行ってみました。
After we checked in at the hotel, we headed to a nearby restaurant.

私は野菜たっぷりのラムシチューを注文しました。暖かくて美味しかったです！
I ordered a vegetable and lamb stew. It was very good and WARM.

そして終わったら、またホテルに戻って、一時間仮眠をとりました。
And when we were done, we went back to the hotel, and I had a nap.

なぜかというと、今夜９時半からオーロラのツアーがありました。
Because we went on a tour to see the Northern Lights tonight at 9:30pm.

そしてすばらしかったです！
And it was amazing.

最初は、本当に少ししか写れなかったんですけど。
In the beginning, nothing was really showing up all that well.

外は寒すぎて、カメラ、が凍り始めたのです。。
It was so cold outside, that my tripod and camera itself were freezing over.

そしてカメラの電池があっというまになくなっていました。
And my battery power disappeared really suddenly.

一回バッテリーをとって、両手で暖めた間に、周りの人が「スゴイスゴイ」って言い出した。
As I held my battery in my hands to warm it up, I could hear the people around me get excited.

空がかなり明るくなりました。
The sky suddenly turned bright.

そして寒い寒い風に光が踊りました。
And in the cold cold wind, the lights began to dance.

 その右の人間らしいものは、ジェットダイスケです!
The weird person-like figure on the right is JetDaisuke.

結局、０１時３０分にホテルに戻りました。
In the end, we came back to the hotel at 1:30am.

でも凄く楽しかったです。
But it was a lot of fun.

明日また予定いっぱいありますので、これでおやすみなさい！
I have a lot of plans for tomorrow, so I have to go now.

明日も素晴らしい体験になるように！

Good morning, Blackcomb!

今回は、去年のウィンターオリンピックが行われた所、ウィスラーに泊まっています！
This time, we are staying in Whistler, which hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics last year.

子供のごろスノーボードよくしましたが、ウィスラーに来た事なかったです。
I used to snowboard a lot as a child, but I had never been to Whistler.

でも友達がいつも、「凄くいいよ！！すううごくいいんだよ！！」って言っていました。
But my friends had always told me, “It’s really good. It’s like, reallly good!”.

そしてカナダ観光局のおかげで、やっとくることになりました。
And thanks to the Canadian Tourism Commission, I was finally able to come visit.

世界中の人が集まってきてるんで、とても国際的な町です。
People come from all over the world to visit here, it’s very ~International~.

ワーキングホリデーで一年間働きにくるオーストラリアやヨローパ人たくさん居ますし。
And there are many Europeans and Australians here on Working Holiday.

美味しいレストランもたくさんあります。お寿司やさんも。
And there are a lot of good places to eat… including Sushi restaurants.

そして日本にきてから一番恋しかった食べ物、Beef Dipを美味しく食べれました。
I could finally eat one of my favorite foods, “Beef Dip”, which I missed so much in Japan.

 ビーフディップ知っていますか？
Do you know what Beef Dip is?

ビーフとマスタードが入っているサンドを、そのビーフのホット肉汁につけて、食べます。
You dip your beef and horse-radish sandwich into it’s own beef au jus.

寒い冬にぴったり食べ物です。
The perfect food for a cold winter.

後で，ホテルのルームツアーをあげたいと思います。
I want to give you a tour of my room later.

映像を編集するには時間かかるんですけど。
Although it will take time for me to edit the video stuff together.

とりあえず、これは私のベッドルームです。 そうです、ベッドは個室にあります。
But in the meantime, this is my bedroom. Yes, the bed has it’s own room.

ウィスラーにいた間に色な体験させていただきました。
I got to do a lot of things in Whistler.

いちばん楽しかったのは、やっぱりスノーボードでしたね。
I  guess I enjoyed snowboarding the most, after all.

明日からバンクーバーに戻ってユーコンへ向かいます！
Tomorrow we go back to Vancouver and head to the Yukon!

でも今までウィスラーを一番楽しんでいたかも。
But Whistler has been a favorite so far.

(写真あんまり撮れなかったぐらい楽しかったです。）
(So much fun that I barely had time to take good pictures. lol.)

明日ユーコンに着いたらまた新たなリポートをします。
I’ll give you a report again tomorrow from the Yukon!

Vancouver Cityscape from Stanley Park

今朝カルガリーからバンクーバーに着きました。
This morning we arrived in Vancouver from Calgary.

ホテルにチェックインしたらすぐお出かけしました。
We explored the city immediately after checking into our hotel.

そして向かったのは、あの人気な公園、“Stanley Park”.
And we decided to head to the popular Stanley Park.

スタンリーパークでリスとカナダガンがよくみかけます。
In Stanley Park it’s very common to see Canadian Geese and Squirrels.

スタンリーパークにあるバンクーバー水族館にも訪れました。
Then we headed to the Vancouver Aquarium, located in Stanley Park.

水族館の前にあるシャチの彫像気に入りました。
I really liked the statue of the Killer Whale they had outside.

そしてついに水族館に入りました！And of course we went inside the Aquarium too!

魚類だけではなく、アマゾンのゾーンもあって、鳥、インコ、ナマケモノなどがいました！
They had an Amazon room with birds, parrots, and sloths!

どこへ行ってもとても面白いディスプレイがありました。
But nearly every display was interesting.

このクラゲとても気に入りました。
I really liked these jellyfish.

とても楽しい一日でした。
It was a pretty good day.

そして明日からまた新しい場所へ向かいます！！
And from tomorrow we’re off to a new place.

The start of a 2.7km hike.

そしてホテルのチェックアウトをし、ジョンストンキャニオンに行ってきました！
This morning we went to Johnston Canyon after checking out of our hotel.

キャニオンに着いたら人もいなくて、雪に動物の足跡しか見えなかったのです。
Nobody was around when we arrived at the canyon, the only footprints in the snow belonged to animals.

寒そうに見えると思いますけど、風なかったので、意外と「暖かかった」です。
It looks way colder than it actually was. There wasn’t any wind, so it was quite “warm”.

。。。とは言っても、マイナス１℃でしたねー♫
By “warm”, I mean, it was -1 Degree Celcius.

雪が軽く降ってて、リスの鳴き声以外、森の中は静かくて、平和でした。
It was snowing lightly, the forest was silent and peaceful aside from the occasional squirrel chatter.

やっぱり冬ですので、川と滝はこれからだんだん凍って行きますね。
Since it’s winter, the rivers and waterfalls are slowly starting to freeze over.

水の色とても奇麗な青でした。
And the water is such a pretty shade of blue-green.

そしてトレイルの最後の変で、氷柱の自然な飾りをみて感動しました。
And near the end of the trail, icicles decorated the sides of the mountains.

とても素敵なハイキングでした。
It was worth the hike.

のぼりと帰りで会わせて2.5時間ぐらいかかりました。
In total, I think the hike took about 2.5 hours.

何回も写真を撮るために止まってたんだけどね。
We stopped a lot to take pictures though, so maybe that’s why.

でも楽しかったです！
But it was a lot of fun.

そしてこれで、バンフの旅行終わります。
And with this, we have finished our Banff travels.

次の目的地できっと違う景色見えますので、楽しみにしてください。
